Wallpaper for a Powder Room
November 8th, 2011 by OliveToday I’m working on selecting a wallpaper for a small powder room. Driving this decision is a black & white octagon mosaic floor and an intense shade of blue on the walls outside of the powder room (Sherwin William’s Mountain Stream):
I want a pattern that is large in scale without that traditional small-print granny-wallpaper clutter. So something modern (but not too modern… This is a house from the 1920′s and there’s that mosaic floor to consider…) with a lot of white background. I’m also searching for something with blues or greens. Too many parameters?? The search is ON!
I’m so inspired by these images from Elizabeth Dinkel, who appears to hold the title of Queen of the Wallpapered Bathrooms… where do you find your splendid papers Elizabeth?

We have a winner! After a quick and easy meeting last night, the selection was finalized. I’m super enthusiastic that the chosen design has both blue and green, is large in scale, has a lot of white background and the subject matter is not too obscure/modern. Yahoo! (Now watch it be on a bazillion week lead time… )
